Generally, blankets are used in conjunction with bedspreads, instead of a
quilt. However, they can be used with a lighter weight quilt to add
warmth.
- Sizes of blankets are normally generous, therefore, you don`t
usually have to go up a size like a quilt.
The main types of blankets Pillow talk Stock are:
- Summer Cotton Blankets
- Light in warmth - good for summer nights when a sheet is just not
warm enough. The more open the weave the cooler they will be.
- All natural fibre.
- The warmest weave is waffle-weave where little pockets of warm air are trapped.
- The most popular weaves of cotton cellular, blanket are panel weave and line weave.
- Synthetic blankets are made of
Man-made fibres, they will not breathe the same as a natural fibre like
wool or cotton.
- They include fabrics such as acrylic, polarfleece, mink
and microfibre.
- They are ideal for people with allergies and are easy
to care for as they are machine washable.
GSM: Blankets are measured in GSM. GSM stands for grams per
square metre and refers to the amount of fibre that has been used in the
product, the more fibre that is used, the higher the GSM. The higher
the GSM, the thicker and warmer it is.
