Why Use A Protector?

  • Protects mattress and pillow from moisture, which your body loses during sleep.
  • Using a protector extends the life of your mattress and pillow will reduce wear and tear
  • Unprotected pillows are a potential breeding ground for bacteria and dust mites
  • A protector is much easier to launder than a mattress or pillow

Types of Protector

Pillow talk stocks a great selection of pillow protectors, mattress protectors, toppers and underblankets for the ultimate in sleeping comfort
Things to bear in mind when purchasing your protector are the type of fabric required for the cover and the weight of the fill:  The fill is measured by weight.  The weight refers to how much a 1 metre square section of fill weighs in GSM.

The fill and cover can be
  • Polyester and Cotton -Machine washable, anti dust mite, allergy free and budget priced.  Polyester is a manmade fibre so does not breathe like natural fibres and is not as absorbent but a little bit of polyester incorporated with the fill will often create an economical, longer lasting protector.
  • Cotton - Offers cooler comfort for those hot summer nights as cotton it is totally natural and absorbent.  All cotton protectors will be more absorbent and cooler to sleep on.  They are usually a slightly more expensive option
  • Waterproof - Available in vinyl, cotton towelling or quilted styles for the frequently moist bed.
Note: We do not recommend the use of an electric blanket with our waterproof mattress protectors.
Styles:
Our mattress protectors come in three styles:
Corner strap  - with 4 elastic straps to go over the corners of your mattress
Fully Fitted - with an elastic skirt to cover the side of your mattress and fit snugly underneath.  It is important to enquire if the depth of the fitted skirt is the correct depth for your mattress.
Wrap - where the protector wraps around the middle of the bed only
